Dear Diary
This evening, I was on my way to visit Charlie at his burrow to chat about the boat we’ve been planning for days now. The sun had just dipped below the treeline, casting a soft golden hue over the Whispering Woods. As I made my way down the familiar forest path, something strange caught my eye—small, red eyes glowing up in a tree. I froze, trying to make out the shape in the branches.
My heart skipped when I realized it was Martina Marten, crouched and ready to pounce. She looked hungry, and I knew exactly what was on her mind—me for dinner!
I didn’t stick around for a chat. Instead, I bolted down the path as fast as my paws could carry me. Martina darted after me, her claws barely missing my tail. She was quick, but I’ve always been good at darting through tight spaces. A quick left, a sudden right, and I managed to shake her off my trail for a moment.
I circled back towards my burrow, my breath coming in gasps. With a final burst of energy, I dashed inside and slammed the door, bolting it securely behind me.
Phew! Safe at last. I think that Martina will think twice before chasing me again!
Now, I just need to catch my breath before heading out to see Charlie tomorrow. I wonder if we should consider adding a lookout tower to that boat…
Well that is all for today.
